City Manager Department

The City Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer for the city. He also serves as the City Clerk and oversees the supervision of the Code Enforcement Official, as well as other department heads. The City Manager is responsible for the day to day performance of all city operations, implementing Council policy, formulating staff recommendations to Council on policy matters, and preparing and submitting an annual budget an annual budget.

Finance Department

The Finance Department is responsible for providing the financial management of all city funds and maintaining the fiscal integrity of the City. Major activities of this department include, but are not limited to: managing the city's investments; obtaining financing for capital projects; financial analysis and reporting; budget preparation and management; revenue management; billing and collections for utilities; CDBG loan paperwork, licensing and other paperwork; information services; purchasing; records management; and personnel/payroll record keeping. In addition to all of the above, the Finance Department is responsible for the day to day operation of the front office of City Hall.

Police Department

The mission of the Police Department is to create and maintain a climate of safety in the community. The Department has seven (7) full time sworn police officer position; 1 Chief of Police, 1 Sergeant, 1 Corporal, and 4 police officers, providing 24 hour police coverage to the community.

Public Works Department

The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the City Water System, Sewer System, all city streets and related signage, city grounds and parks, and all public infrastructures. In addition, Public Works handles the transportation of animals to the animal shelter, and serves in the capacity of the Pound Master. The Department has five (5) full time positions; 1 Director or Public Works, 1 Water/Wastewater Superintendent, and 3 Utility Workers.

Code Enforcement

The Code Enforcement Official addresses both commercial and residential nuisance abatement and zoning compliance issues.
